Freestyle Music
So here I am browsing the blogs and I come across this guy who hates freestyle music! Read his post at http://savemanny.blogspot.com/2006/05/freestyle-music-refuses-to-die.html.
I can’t disagree more with this guy! I love freestyle music! I wish it would come back more mainstream instead of remaining as an underground love of true freestyle fans. I’m not sure what it is about the music that makes it so great, but I love it! I know there’s a lot of you out there that agree and still listen to old time favorites by Stevie B, Cynthia, Judy Torres, etc. If you’re feeling me on this, let me know.
Freestyle music will never die!

First of all…thanx for deffending an awesome style of music. Most of the kids I grew up with still listening and try and find some tunes we all missed….I myself have a huge collection of freestyle mixes from djs around the nation, as well as a huge vinyl arsenal. But as with all the music genres, one can only aquire so much. Yes I agree that some of the tunez sound like crap and make the whole style look like that too but is the same in other styles of music too….as an example…hip hop…it used to be about strugglin’ in the ghettho and now is about havin 22’s in the car..c’mon…I’m proud of bein what they used to call us back here in the border of EL Paso and Juarez as CHI-CHI RA-RAS…I love Freestyle…I have so manny memories with this music, friends, school, parties, My mother that liked it too (R.I.P.), there’s no other type of genre that makes you feel emmotional, but at the same time pumpped up and wanted to dance. As a dj I love searchin for new music, new tunes to play at the clubs, or events I play…but always lookin for that special tune I missed pickin up at the record shop….
