Getting Pretty Big, huh?

For all you moms or soon-to-be moms out there, I’m sure you can relate. We’ve all heard those annoying comments or questions when pregnant.

The one I used to hate the most was, “Getting Pretty Big, huh?“.

I used to just smile and nod, or fake a lil laugh, but man, do I wish I could have just told them off.

I think next time, if I get the same question, I’ll try to answer with something like, “Big? You think I’m getting big? You don’t think I could be pregnant, do you?”.

What sorts of questions/comments did you get when pregnant or as a new mom? What was your answer (or what you wish you had said)?

Don’t you wish you could have just handed them this?

I can’t stand the people who think just b/c you are pregnant they can touch your belly. ICK!

The worst was easily when I was 3 weeks overdue and put on bed rest for pre-eclampsia. I snuck out to church for an hour and a DOCTOR came up and told me that “a watched pot never boils.” I almost slugged him.

Fortunately, my oldest was born the next day.

Karen: Yes, I agree. I actually had that happen to me and I felt like punching the person. :)

JHS: Unbelievable. And, from a doctor!

The worst one I got was “You are REALLY going to blow up one you have that baby.”

    Gee thanks. LOL!

Yup. No better way to make an already sensitive topic even more so for someone strung up on pregnancy hormones. I hated feeling big and ugly while pregnant and it certainly didn’t help to have strangers laugh at me for it.

Since I am never small, size zero, petite…when I got pregnant and told some friends they responded: “Are you sure it’s not just the effect of yoyo dieting?”

I didn’t get very big so people didnt really say anything to me. But I say it now since I am getting pretty fat. xD

    Kari: You’re so right.

Grace: I can’t believe that was the response of your friends. How horrible!

    Jenny: That’s cute.
