Where Panties are Optional
I went to the spa with my mom this past Saturday. It was a Mother’s day present to us from my brother and my husband.
The package included a massage, facial, eyebrow wax, manicure, and pedicure.
I was getting all pampered up! And just in time for my Hawaii trip!
Now, I’ve never had a massage, so I wasn’t exactly sure how it would go. I imagined it would be from the waist up and so I knew I had to take my shirt off.
But, much to my surprise, the masseuse said to undress completely and “…down to your panties, but even those are optional.”
What?
Did you miss that?
She said even those are optional!
My first thought was, why in the world would I take those off???
And then immediately after, you mean some people actually take them off?
And my final thought was, God, I hope they change the sheets!
I know…I’m an idiot.
But like I said, I was a massage virgin and this was my first time. And just as with sex, the first time is bound to be awkward.
Once I got past all that, the massage turned out to be GREAT! Really, the whole spa experience was wonderful and was a much appreciated Mother’s day gift.
I’m now anxious to hit the spa again and get another massage.
Panties ON, of course.

Ha ha, the title grabbed my attention on twitter and drew me here. Trust me, it is much better without the panties, but keep them on until you feel comfortable. Massage is one of my favorite things and I also use to give them as a professional.
Yes, they do change the sheets between clients and it is easier to do a more thorough job on the lower back and legs minus the panties. Many strokes are meant to go from shoulder to toes and feel great. You are also kept covered the whole time, except for the areas being worked on, so you would not be exposed fully ever.
Build a relationship with a massage therapist that you feel comfortable with and enjoy and that will help you relax too.
DO keep getting massages, they are great for you!

I love this post…
It reminds me of my favorite massage experience.
In a gorgeous Miami spa, I prefer a male masseuse, which is a whole post in itself. (Very self conscious, disrobe under the sheet) 5 minutes into it, he commented on my “good figure”
which made me nervous the whole time. When I went to tip at the front, they said “who did you have? The blind guy?”

LOL..I see here that mami you have some comedians reading your site. Thanks for the informative posts on massages. i always wondered how my own wife would react to being a “massage virgin”. I’ll ask her when I get home.
